This game has been designed for the footy fun of young and not so young gamers alike.
For those of us who have been there, seen it and done it, it will take you back to the beginnings of the football management simulation.
Inspired by the very first one infact! The beginning of the genre. Kevin Toms release on the Sinclair ZX81 was simple, fast and fun. Many of you will remember not only becoming a virtual football manager for the first time, but the fact that he always had a picture of his face on the covers for the cassettes. Yes, cassettes!
For all generations, our game has the same fast pace.
Newly created in the “C” language for android phones. (There is a huge collectors market nowadays for vintage computers like the ZX81, however it’s not for everyone! You can get the same feeling of nostalgic fun playing on your phone now, with RFM.)

Some are bound to notice that aswell as Crystal Palace there is C Palace.
A coder on the game sneaked the “B team” in. Hoping that doubles the chances of them actually winning something..!

Please note that as this is based on a 16k game, there is not hundreds of players!
Player skill levels randomise at the beginning of each season.
No faffing around with ground extensions, player contracts media, and all the other palava added to modern games, Retro Football Manager is about.. management!
That’s why it is fast fun.
Retro Shack coder Cat Mantra became so frustrated with modern games and how long winded and boring they are he decided to go back to basics.
Buy and sell players, pick your team, and go!
You DO have to keep an eye on the bank balance though..!

Additional hints and tips:
Rotate your squad! (Maximum 16.) Your players use 1 energy point each time they play, and gain 10 when rested.
You don’t NEED a named goalie. Being based on the simple original, the game calculates your total defence number.

March 2023 UPDATE!

Added:

Four new player databases. You can now choose from Mixed Era and 70’s, 80’s, or 90’s legends. (And switch the player database each season if wanted.)

New Options:

Add yourself AS a player.
Add a team of your choice to manage if not already in the database.
Legends Mode. Engage legends mode to make your squad players a more realistic skill for who they are. This makes you way more competitive on level five and higher.

Fixed:

Game state will now save on older Android devices.

Hints:
If you make an error on your player or team name the game will give you a chance to correct it. FOLLOW ON SCREEN ADVICE when entering.
If it is still incorrect when the main game starts, simply select “Resign” to restart.
If you already have the game it is not advisable to continue a current game after updating. This may cause errors, so after update select resign to reset the game engine.
