The Royal Hurrah Game is one of the most ancient board games in the world. It appeared in ancient Mesopotamia at the beginning of the third millennium BC.
The game is designed for two players. The party time is about 30 minutes. The opponents move their chips (7 each) using dice. The winner is the one who removes all his chips from the field faster than the opponent.
In ancient times, the game of Hurrah was a tactical war game, but over time it acquired a religious connotation. People began to see the relationship between success in the game and success in real life. “You will become powerful like a lion”, “You will find a friend” — an accidental hit on a specific field in the game was interpreted as a message from the deities, a prediction of the future.
The “Royal Game of Hurrah” was found all over the Middle East and beyond, including the islands of Crete and even Sri Lanka. The game was widespread among all segments of the population and remained popular until Late Antiquity, when it either turned into an early form of backgammon or was supplanted by them.
